13 - Oct. 1, '03 This 19-day session provides participants with a firm foundation of water and land based outdoor leadership skills, as well as solid open water lifesaving and first aid skills. Wilderness first aid is taught in accordance with current Red Cross standards. Lifesaving is taught in accordance with current Lifesaving Society standards. Through adventure-based activities such as surfing, coastal hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and technical tree climbing, participants will learn and practice group leadership and guiding. Learning about the natural and cultural world of Hesquiat Harbour is included in a wide range of activities.
